Noname finally releases her keenly anticipated debut, Telefone.
In a day awash with new music – amidst new Lil Uzi Vert and Soulja Boy mixtapes, a new Earl Sweatshirt instrumental cut, a ridiculously large amount of unreleased Skrillex leaks hitting the net, and Frank Ocean’s website beginning to broadcast a video feed of an empty performance set-up – frequent Chance the Rapper collaborator Noname (previously known as “Noname Gypsy“) quietly released her 10-track debut project, Telefone.
Telefone is a short and sweet listen – Noname effortlessly floats over all 10 almost Soulection-esque beats driven by filtered samples, dewy piano chords, fluttering synths and popping, crisp clap-snap percussion. Noname also enlists a number of collaborators on the tape, including Raury, theMIND, and fellow Chi-raq affiliate Saba.
Stream and download Telefone below, and stay tuned for a review of the project in the coming days.
